Johnson is in his eighth year year at camp, six of which he spent directing KEMPA SJW. He currently advises the Pacemaker, CSPA Gold Crown, All-American, and All-KEMPA-winning Tom Tom magazine, the Arrow sports media program, and the Sequoit Media website at Antioch Community HS. Johnson is a 2015 JEA Rising Star and a 2016 Dow Jones News Fund Distinguished National Adviser of the Year. He is currently the Mentor Program chair for the Journalism Education Association and serves on the Quill and Scroll Board of Trustees. |

NATALIE BROWN, CJE
Brown serves as the adviser to the yearbook, broadcast, online and print newspapers for Carroll Senior High school is Southlake, Texas. Her programs have received top state awards as well as All-American honors, CPSA Crown awards and Pacemaker nominations. Brown has been awarded as a JEA Rising Star and serves as the education committee chairperson for Texas Association of Journalism Educators. This is Brown's first year at camp. |
EVELYN LAUER, MJE
Lauer is the Public Relations/Publications Chair for the Journalism Education Association. She currently teaches English at Niles West High School in Skokie, Illinois and is the former adviser of Niles West News. Her essays and poems have been published by the Huffington Post Education Week, Scary Mommy, Sentence, and elsewhere. This is Lauer's sixth year at camp. |
REBECCA POLLARD, MJE
Pollard advises The Leopard yearbook at Lovejoy High School in Lucas, Texas. She is not afraid of a challenge, which is why she has advised at five different schools and all mediums at 19 years. Her programs have won top state and national awards, and she is a JEA Distinguished Yearbook Adviser. She also serves JEA as Journalist of the Year committee chair. This is Pollard's first year at camp. |
JONATHAN ROGERS, MJE
Rogers is the award-winning adviser of The Little Hawk newspaper, website, feature magazine, and sports magazine in Iowa City, Iowa. Rogers is recognized nationally for his program's innovative approaches to journalism and multimedia storytelling. He has been recognized by JEA and NSPA with numerous individual awards and awards for his publication, which include multiple Pacemakers. He currently serves on the JEA and IHSPA boards. This is his fifth year at camp. |
