The student media leadership intensive class moved from discussing leadership and management to applying the skills they learned in the past two days.
Four interns volunteered to act out scenarios that these editors might encounter with their own staffs. Individual students or pairs of students then jumped in by reacting as they would in an editor position.
The purpose of the activity was to give the future editors a chance to practice handling these difficult situations in a classroom setting. The students were not given the scenarios beforehand, forcing them to think on the spot and spark a discussion about different ways to handle situations.
